Looking for 2,014 Foreigners Who Will Spend 2014 New Year’s Day at Dokdo! - 2014 Dokdo Case Calendar Global Distribution Contest: Apply at Cyber Dokdo by November 29, 2013 -
Gyeongsangbuk-do (Governor: Gwanyong Kim) announced that it will hold the 『2014 Dokdo Case Calendar Global Distributor Contest』 event at Cyber Dokdo (http://wwwkdo.go.kr) on Nov. 18 (Mon) – 29, 2013.
○ The 2014 Dokdo Case Calendar was produced to naturally convey that Dokdo is effectively being controlled by the Republic of Korea by heralding the beauty of Dokdo through the featured landscape images, photos of Dokdo’s culture and arts events organized by the province of Gyengsangbuk-do, drawings of plants growing in Dokdo, and tourist ination of Ulleungdo and Dokdo.
○ All the South Korean citizens can participate in the Dokdo Calendar Distributor Contest, and the chosen people will personally deliver the Dokdo calendar produced by the province of Gyeongsangbuk-do to foreigners.
○ To enter the contest, the applicants must indicate their addresses in South Korea and write an introduction (name, occupation, and reason for wanting to give the calendar as a present to this person) of the foreigner who will receive the calendar. After the review, the calendar will be delivered to the applicant’s address in South Korea in the order of application within the month of December.
As the second contest following 2013’s event,
○ Last year, the province of Gyeongsangbuk-do delivered the Dokdo calendar to various foreign agencies and organizations in the 40 countries requested by the Internet applicants, including the members of the 112th U.S. Congress, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and a law firm in Alabama, USA.
Doohwan Lee, the director of East Coast Development Promotion Team, said,
○ “I ask for the participation of all the South Korean citizens in the 2014 Dokdo Calendar Distribution Contest so that the people aro the world can identify with the fact that Dokdo is a territory of the Republic of Korea. The province of Gyeongsangbuk-do will execute active overseas promotion of Dokdo with erse ideas in the new year.”
○ For the promotion of Dokdo, the province of Gyeongsangbuk-do operated the Dokdo Promotional Booth at the LA Korean-American Festival in September 2013 and proceeded with the Dokdo Promotion in the World project at the Day of Dokdo in Australia.
