Holding the 2014 South Koreas Dokdo Culture Festival at Gwanghwamun Plaza in Seoul: Joining forces for the love of Dokdo
In celebration of the Month of Dokdo, Gyeongsangbuk-do (governor: Kim Gwan-yong) held the 2014 South Koreas Dokdo Culture Festival with great success at Gwanghwamun Plaza in Seoul, at 3 p.m. on October 25.
This festival was co-hosted in Seoul by Gyeongsanbuk-dos Dokdo Keeping Dokdo Foation and Nation (Dokdo) Promotion National Movement Headquarters to share the value of Dokdo as part of the Korean territory, and to promote Dokdo through culture and arts. The festival was the first of its kind.
In particular, some 200 nationals out of the 3,036 (as of September) from across the country who registered their residence in Dokdo to demonstrate their love for it were invited to the event to encourage them and to elicit a pledge from them to defend Dokdo.
