A model of Dokdo will be built in the seas of Pohang, Gyeongbuk(Gyeongsangbuk-do) to allow visitors to experience Dokdo.
Pohang City signed on the 18th an MOU with the Korea Talent Donation Corps to build what is currently called ‘Dokdo Land’ in a conference room at the City Hall.
The Korea Talent Donation Corps and the City will build a model of Dokdo at a 1/5 scale in the seas of Duho-dong Buk-gu, Pohang City, in an attempt to stop Japan’s greed over Dokdo.
This MOU was suggested by the Korea Talent Donation Corps. The City will provide various administrative measures to support it. The Korea Talent Donation Corps will promote the details of the plan, including f-raising for the model.
“Once the model of Dokdo is built in the seas of Pohang, people will be able to experience Dokdo without having to visit it, to clearly erstand that Dokdo is a territory of Korea,”said Mayor Park Seung-ho of Pohang.
Advisor Park Moon-young of the Korea Talent Donation Corps, who composed and wrote the popular song ‘Dokdo Is Our Land’, noted, “As Pohang is the first gateway to Dokdo, we figured that it has a special relationship with Dokdo and is the best site for Dokdo Land.”
The Korea Talent Donation Corps is a non-profit organization that has promoted about 60 flash mob events in Dokdo, starting with its first event at Seoul Station Square last 2012 and its Sing the National Anthem of Korea Project that it has staged about 30 times.
