To promote outstanding medical institutions for medical tourists in the Cantho and Soc Trang provinces, Gyeongsangbuk-do heads to Vietnam to invite medical tourists. Towards this end, Gyeongsangbuk-do engaged in promotional activities from August 28 to September 1, 2017 carried out by three major medical institutions (Gumi Gangdong Hospital, Gyeongsan Semyeong Hospital, and Andong Hospital) and Daegu Haany University Travel Agency, which specializes in inviting international patients. First, they met with the Chairman of People’s Council in Cantho, one of the five largest Vietnamese cities, and visited three local medical institutions (Cantho General Hospital, Hau Giang General Hospital, and Van Thuoc General Medical Center) to discuss mutual exchanges with the local medical-tourism hospitals of Gyeongsangbuk-do for medical development. A medical-tourism presentation was held for 80 local medical practitioners, travel agencies, and upper-class citizens who are interested in South Korea’s medical tourism. The presentation emphasized the excellence and safety of Gyeongsangbuk-do’s advanced medical technology and ed on promoting the unique medical-tourism programs of Gyeongsangbuk-do, with a heavenly natural landscape and monumental cultural heritages. On the 30th, the Gyeongsangbuk-do delegation visited Soc Trang Province, which has been managed as the new frontier of Vietnam’s medical-tourism business for 3 years, to meet with the chairman of People’s Council and hold presentations at Soc Trang General Hospital.
