Five advertisements produced on “Why are Japan’s arguments about Dokdo false?” Gyeongsangbuk-do has attracted attention by producing academic advertisements about Dokdo to criticize or reveal the falsity of Japan’s arguments about Dokdo. A series of five advertisements collectively titled “Why are Japan’s arguments about Dokdo false?” has been made so that all the South Koreans could more easily and accurately erstand the issues about Dokdo. Episode 1, titled “Dokdo, a Japanese territory?,” announces that Japan had declared that Dokdo is part of the Korean territory through Daijokan’s dated 1877, which states that “Jukdo (Ulleungdo) and Ildo (Dokdo) are not related to us (Japan).” Episode 2 asks, “Dokdo is not related to the Japanese imperial rule?” and proves that Dokdo was the first sacrifice for Japanese invasion as Japan built a watch tower in Dokdo to stop the Russian fleets from sailing southward to the East Sea after starting the Russo-Japanese Wars in February 1904. Titled “Korea didn’t know Dokdo?,” Episode 3 announces that Dokdo was marked as part of the Korean territory when the draft of the San Francisco Treaty was being written, and reports that the journal of Nitaka records that the Koreans’ name for “Liancourt Rocks” was “Dokdo.” Episode 4, titled “The U.S. approved Dokdo as part of the Japanese territory?” suggests that the official letter of the U.S. Armed Forces in Korea in 1948 clarified that Dokdo is part of the Korean territory by stating, “The waters aro Dokdo are the best fishing gros for the Korean fishermen.” Finally, Episode 5, “The truth is one for Dokdo!,” announces what is written in Sejongsillok Jiriji from 1454, that “the two islands are not very distant from each other and can see each other on a clear day.”
