A factory for in-vitro malaria diagnosis kits to be built in Ssanglim Agricultural & Industrial Complex by 2022 Access Bio, the U.S. company that’s the world’s best in terms of in-vitro diagnosis, invests USD30 million in Goryeong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Governor Gwan Yong Kim of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Governor Yong Hwan Gwak of Goryeong, and Chairman Young Ho Choi of Access Bio signed an MOU at the Gyeongsangbuk-do Office’s conference room last 22nd. er the MOU, Access Bio will build an R&D facility and a large-scale production factory for malaria diagnosis kits and devices at a 6,611m2 (about 2,000py) lot in Ssanglim Agricultural & Industrial Complex, Goryeong-gun by 2022. It is expected to hire about 70 new employees. Access Bio, with its main office in New Jersey, USA, develops and produces fast-diagnosis kits d on in-vitro diagnosis technology for malaria, dengue fever, and AIDS. Its malaria diagnosis kits are recognized as having the best perance by Doctors without Borders (MSF), and its malaria fast-diagnosis kits have been certified as no. 1 by World Health Organization. With the biggest share in the world market, it is currently the world’s leading company in in-vitro diagnosis technology. As of today, the world’s in-vitro diagnosis market is thought to have reached USD62.6 billion in scale. The Asian market is expanding at the fastest speed in the world as the developing countries in Africa and Asia have growing needs to fight and stop endemic, epidemic, and contagious diseases. With the aforementioned investment, the head office of Access Bio in the U.S. will on its business in the U.S. and exports to Africa while South Korea will secure a mass production system for the Asian and Middle Eastern markets.
