Starting on July 8, Gyeongsangbuk-do and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Culture and Tourism Organization are hosting an online event called the “Selfie Event for Your Eco-friendly Train Trip to Gyeongsangbuk-do.” This event, which ends on July 19, gives travelers buying a ticket for the “Eco-friendly Train Trip to Gyeongsangbuk-do” product a chance to win some great prizes.

All you need to enter the event is the Rail Plus Card you receive when you buy a ticket for an Eco-friendly Train Trip to Gyeongsangbuk-do product.

Add “Gyeongsangbuk-do Tour” on KakaoTalk (Plus Friend account), take a photo of your Rail Plus Card (rear side), then open a private chat with Gyeongsangbuk-do Tour to send the photo. Make sure to leave your name and contact information to enter the event.

Winners will be announced on August 23 via Gyeongsangbuk-do Tours official website and SNS platforms. Winners will also be contacted privately via KakaoTalk to claim their prize.

Meanwhile, from June to September this year, Gyeongsangbuk-do will offer a special “Eco-friendly Train Trip to Gyeongsangbuk-do” product.

Take a KTX-Eum (Jungang Line) or KTX (Gyeongbu Line) train from the metropolitan region, Chungcheong-do, or Busan* to any of the seven designated stations in Gyeongsangbuk-do**, then once you have returned to the train station after enjoying your day, present any receipts for the tickets you may have purchased throughout the day at the ticket office to get a Rail Plus Card worth up to KRW 50,000.
* Departure stations (8 stations): Seoul, Gwangmyeong, Cheongnyangni, Suwon, Osong, Cheonan-Asan, Daejeon, Busan
** Arrival stations (7 stations): Andong, Yeongju, Punggi, Gimcheon-Gumi, Singyeongju, Pohang+Dongdaegu (transit)

The Rail Plus Card can be used at any station across the country, and can be used to purchase tickets or at stores inside train stations.

Gyeongsangbuk-do’s Director of Culture, Tourism and Sports said, Since the KTX-Eum began servicing Jungang Line from Cheongnyangni to Andong in January 2021, the average daily number of passengers has increased to 4,000. The number of passengers using the KTX Gyeongbu Line is also increasing at a steady pace.” He added, “We are hoping to bring some life back into Gyeongsangbuk-do’s tourism industry with some aggressive marketing initiatives that combine our Eco-friendly Train Trip product and online customer events.”
