Gyeongsangbuk-do (Governor: Lee Cheol-Woo) and the Korea Railroad Corporation (President: Na Hui-Seung) have partnered up for a promotional offer with special discounts available on KTX tickets to Gyeongsangbuk-do. With its latest promotional offer, Gyeongsangbuk-do is hoping to attract more travelers to the Province during the peak travel season at the end of the year.

According to the Gyeongsangbuk-do Government (Gyeongangbuk-do Culture and Tourism Corporation) and KORAIL on December 2, the KTX train to Singyeongju station on the Gyeongbu line departing from Seoul station is available at KRW 24,700, 50% off its full fare of KRW 49,300, and the KTX-Eum train to either Punggi station, Yeongju station, or Andong station on the Jungang line are all available at KRW 10,000. Trains depart at eight stations across the country - Seoul, Cheongnyangni, Gwangmyeong, Suwon, Cheonan Asan, Daejeon, and Busan - and the destination stations are Gimcheon (Gumi), Singyeongju, Pohang, Punggi, Yeongju, and Andong (KTX/KTX-Eum train stations in Gyeongsangbuk-do).

In order to receive the cashback on your discount, purchase a train ticket that leaves the departure station before 15:00 on Webtour’s reservation website (http://www.webtour.com) or via Webtour’s smartphone application. Upon arrival at your destination, visit one of the 72 designated tourist attractions across Gyeongsangbuk-do and scan the QR code to check in. The discounted amount will be refunded to your designated account within two weeks. For same-day trips, discounts are available on one-way train fares, while for overnight trips, discounts are available on return tickets as well. Meanwhile, about this special KTX offer to Gyeongsangbuk-do, Kim Sang-cheol, director of Culture, Tourism and Sports Bureau at Gyeongsangbuk-do, explained, “We organized this program to help the people who have had a hard time and those who feel exhausted from COVID-19 to get a chance to rest and recuperate with an end-of-year trip to Gyeonsgangbuk-do.” He also said that he hopes everyone can round out the year while enjoying Gyeongsangbuk-do’s winter travel destinations, including the pristine East Sea coast and th Baekdudaegan mountains, as well as local winter delicacies such as Gwamegi and Snow Crabs.
